Church Shadows

Updated on July 12, 2016

Help Our God

Religion is an important thing to most people. It is also that way for me. Right now, this is only in the planning and development stage. I don't quite know how well it will catch on, or if it will. My intent is to provide an avenue for people to donate to the church of their choice. It will not matter what faith or denomination. Everything collected would be forwarded to the church of their choice.

How Great Thou Art

Do you give to your church without being known by them?

The Focus

I would like the focus of Church Shadows to be on mostly on the acts and function of religion and not a major focus on buildings, property and equipment. One of the core aspects of religion, and so, a church, is mercy. Almost all religions consider mercy to be a high vertue to have. A will to have compassion for, and, if possible, to alleviate the misfortune of others, the misery which one discerns in another person, so far as the condition is considered to be involuntary. It is a spontaneous of charity.

I think that the focus should be the following:

To feed the hungry;

To give drink to the thirsty;

To clothe the naked;

To shelter the homeless;

To visit the sick;

To visit those in prison;

To bury or cremate the dead.

To instruct the ignorant;

To counsel with advice;

To help to forgive offences;

To comfort;

To pray.

I do not think that this should be a missionary effort to try to convert the religion of any person.

The Goal

The goal here is to provide financial support to Churches of all faiths and denominations. My view is that all religions should be respected and supported.

My idea is to act as a middleman between those people that wish to donate without being known by either the church administration or the church congregation.

Intent

The intent is to have 100% of their donation forwarded to the church of their choice. With many other organizations, the church only gets a fraction of what they donate because of the cost of administration and fundraising.

I do think that this should be a completely volunteer operation.
